Known issues, clear workarounds.

We would rather tell you what is rough than let you discover it halfway through a library. These are the issues currently on the board, with workarounds where we have one.

Current known issues

Three things we’re on.

Beta software is unfinished by definition. This page is updated as fixes land, and every issue below includes the honest state of play rather than a promise.

KnownInvestigating

Run as administrator prompt during install

Reported 25 June 2026

What’s happening

The installer currently requires administrator rights because it installs program files for all users. A per-user installation option is planned for a later build.

Workaround

There is no workaround at the moment. If you cannot run the installer as an administrator, wait for the per-user option rather than forcing the install.

Navigation subtotals not updating

Reported 25 June 2026

What’s happening

The counts shown beside some navigation items can fall out of step with the current library after changes. The library itself is not affected.

Workaround

We do not have a confirmed workaround yet. This entry will be updated when one is verified.

Image multi-select not working correctly

Reported 25 June 2026

What’s happening

Selecting more than one image can behave unpredictably in some views, particularly after changing the thumbnail size or switching folders.

Workaround

There is no confirmed workaround. If you can reproduce it consistently, the exact steps are very useful — send them through the feedback form.

Before you report

Three details that save a day.

A useful bug report is not a complaint; it is a set of instructions for reproducing the problem. These three things make the biggest difference.

The steps

What did you click, in what order, and what did you expect to happen? “Open Gallery, choose Large, Ctrl-click three images” is gold.

The version and system

The Live Gallery build number, your Windows version and anything unusual about the library or drive setup.

A screenshot, if you can

A screenshot of the state, or the exact error text, is often faster than a paragraph of description. Do not send private photos.

Found something new?

Tell us what broke.
We’ll add it to the board.

Every report is read. If it is reproducible, it has a much better chance of being fixed in the next build.
